Transfer to to Tacheddirt (2.400m)

Today you are going to the mountains. When it’s clear you can already see the white peaks in the city of Marrakech. Once we leave the city we enter into another world. Surrounded by the red colored mountains, partly covered by the snow, it seems as if time has not been passing by. Everyday life seems very simple over here. We travel along a beautiful moutain road as fas as the pavement will bring us. High in the mountains we stay in the small Berbervillage of Tacheddirt (2.400m.) to sleep in a very simple Berberguesthouse at a very nice location. Especially sunsets can be remarkable here. And when the sky is clear at night do not forget to have a look at the millions of stars … In the afternoon we first will explore the region and the condition of the snow; for example in the direction of the high passes of Tizi Tacheddirt (ca. 3.300m.) or Tizi-n-Tigourzatine (ca. 3.700m.). And in the evening we will be “pampered” by our ‘local crew’ with a Moroccan style ‘tourist’ dinner. And we realize that especially in wintertime the people in this village really are like “all alone in the world”.

Climbing Bou Igouneouane (3.880m), ski descent

Today we will start our first (long) ascent on our tour ski’s to the summit of the Bou Igouneouane mountain. De descent on ski will be rewarding. For “on the road” we take a picknick lunch with us. And when we get back to our Berberguesthouse the Berber mint tea will be waiting for us.

Climbing Tizi Likemt (3.555m)

Today another ascent to the high pass of Tizi Likemt where we will have a nice view over the valley of Assif-n-Tinzer. We descent by ski and enjoy a nice picknick at the foot of the mountain. After lunch we hike over the pass Tizi Tamatert (2.280m.) to Imlil / Tamatert. Here we stay in a comfortable Berber guesthouse.

Imlil – Toubkal hut (3.200m)

Today we will go higher and higher as far the Toubkal mountain hut(s) – these days there are two … . From the snow line onwards we will get on pur ski’s and proters will take the job for transporting the luggage. We stop for a nice lunch at the pilgrimage spot of Sidi Chamarouch. And in the hut the min tea is waiting. After teatime we might go up a little more to feel more comfortable with the altitude. We are sleeping above 3.200 meters now. Afterd diner we will go to sleep early as tomorrow is the day.

Climbing Toubkal (4.167m)

Today we get up early. The sooner we reach the summit, the better the chance that we can enjoy far and beautiful views. For climbing we will do it slowly, step by step. And you look carefully the way the local guide is conquering the steep parts; it looks like a little trick but when you copy his example you will do fine. On top op the mountain we will enjoy the view over all the other mountains. We are on top of the world. At least in this part of it .. Jebel Toubkal is the highest summit in the North of Africa. After enjoying the views and some new energy with the Moroccan dried fruits we will go down and enjoy a beautifull descent on ski. And as always; the descent is going too fast, so take care and enjoy. At night we will certainly enjoy our dineer after a fabulous day.

Decent to Imlil – transfer Marrakech

Today we have to get back to Imlil. We have plenty of time so if your first like to conquer another summit … For the road down, depending on the height of the snow line, we will go on ski or we have to walk if there is only a little snow. In both cases the route is not too difficult which gives the opportunity to enjoy the views. In Imlil there is transport waiting for you to bring you back to Marrakech. In the evening you visit the food and artist spectacle on Jemaa el Fna or wander in the alleys of the souks to buy some souvenirs if only your sweet memories are not enough …
