A private Jebel Toubkal walking trek is your tailor made program as you like it. Walking in Morocco in the High Atlas Mountains is a rewarding experience especially when you make it to the summit of Mount Toubkal. In summer it is a so called walking mountain; just a good condition and a good spirit will do. In winter time with snow high up in the mountains more mountaineering experience is needed. Departure any day you like. Tour starts from Marrakech with a private transfer (1h30) to the Atlas mountains.

With 4 persons or more: discount € 50 per person.
Note: with a 3 day trekking to the summit of Jebel Toubkal you walk above all Berber villages. If you like to see more of the authentic Berber villages ans colorful Berber valleys then it is much more fun to book a 6 day trekking starting in remote Berber valleys ! (€ 445 per person). Then you walk over some high mountain passes with beautiful views. And these high mountain passes will help you to acclimatize to the altitude.

If you like you can book an extra ‘starting-package’ with 2x airport transfer and 2 nights in an authentic Riad hotel in the old city (medina) of Marrakesh. Marrakech medina (€ 100 p/p when using a double room, single room supplement € 40).
Extra nights in Marrakech € 75 per night for a double room, € 55 for a single room.
Extra days in the mountains € 50 p/p (incl. lodging and all meals!)

  • Get a kick out of climbing the highest summit in the High Atlas Mountains of Morocco.
  • Mount Toubkal – 4.167m./13.671 ft. or as the Arabic say Jebel Toubkal. For the Berber people living for ages in the lower valleys it is Adrar-n-Oudarn: thé mountain of the mountains.
  • It is the highest peak of North Africa and deserves respect in every way. The walk to the summit is rewarding and a little challenging.
  • You can make it to the summit and back in 3 days. However if you have some more time take it! For good acclimatization to altitude and to enjoy the colorful Berber valleys our 6 day trekking is highly recommended

Refuge du Toubkal (3200m.) to the summit (4.167m. / 13.671 ft).

Today is the day. You will start very early in the morning (< 06h00) as this makes the chance for great views the best. In the beginning the path is steep. Later on it’s getting easier but then you will feel the altitude. Breath taking. Sometimes causing some headache or nausea. You can take some ‘paracetamol’ with you. And the most important advise: just walk slowly. It is the best way to acclimatize. Walking up to the summit takes about 4 hours. Going down to the hut ca. 2,5 hrs.

Walking ca. 6,5 hrs. Overnight stay: Neltner mountain hut ‘Refuge du Toubkal’. Altitude: 3.200m./ 10.499 ft.
